Tourism of the Future: Sustainability and Added Value

Tourism of the Future: Sustainability and Added Value

Logo símbolo de la iniciativa Plastipaz que lleva el siguiente mensaje: Aquí separamos nuestros residuos por el ambiente y por la paz.

We invite you to learn about this wonderful triple-benefit project, which has brought together many people to build solutions for the environment and for peace in Meta.

I am deeply grateful to UNPD and ACOPLÁSTICOS for allowing me to be part of building and strengthening this initiative. I have had the opportunity to support her with professional consulting And now, from SIMBIOTIC, under the leadership of Trebola Ecological Organization.

Peace and Sustainability Project in Mesetas Meta

This project brings together peace signatories, farmers, and professional recyclers from Mesetas Meta to recover and reuse waste. Its purpose is to protect the natural wealth of the territory, reduce pollution, strengthen reconciliation and trust processes, incorporate sustainable practices, and be a key link in the circular economy, promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.

Special Thanks

Many thanks to Andrea and Latin Latas for bringing fun, music, innovation, and inclusion to young people and families with the creation of this catchy and useful single for raising awareness, separating waste at source, and awakening consciousness about caring for life.

Reflections and Lessons Learned from the Project

After more than a year of working with incredible people, I would like to share some reflections and lessons learned:

Grupo de personas sentadas en el coliseo del casco urbano de mesetas, quienes son parte y apoyan la iniciativa plastipaz, todos sonrientes y mostrando en su mano una matera con un retoño que simboliza el inicio del proceso.
Reciclador de la tercera edad con la mano levantada con gesto de pulgar hacia arriba, portando su chaleco de plastipaz, parado al lado de una pila de residuos plásticos recuperados en lonas en las calles del casco urbano de mesetas

Understanding the Context of the Territory

It is vital to live and understand the context of the territory and its people in order to design solutions tailored to real needs, in line with identified capabilities.

Clear and Participatory Communication

The key is to take it step by step and use proactive language. Simplifying technical, administrative, and managerial knowledge facilitates integration and application, promoting participatory and collaborative leadership to achieve the desired results.

Safe Spaces for Conversations

Learning to manage, value, and foster safe spaces for uncomfortable conversations is essential. Expressing and resolving disagreements, doubts, and conflicts from a place of trust allows us to find solutions focused on win-win negotiations.

Clear Definition of Roles

Part of the success of this type of project lies in clearly defining the roles of the team. The team should be formed based on identifying strengths and experience, so that each member can shine in their work and contribute the greatest value to the project.

Community Inclusion

Bonds endure and grow stronger through true community inclusion. Strategies should focus on harm reduction and complete transparency.

Friendships and Collaboration

There are friendships that are worth their weight in gold and are strengthened by agreements and disagreements. Thank you, Albita, for sharing this dream and making it come true together. I love and admire you deeply!
