Tourism in Colombia has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, and 2023 marked a significant milestone in this upward trend. On December 29 of that year, Colombia received its tourist number of 5.5 million, a historical record that reflects a growth of 44.4% compared to the previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism (MinCIT). This milestone is not only an impressive figure but also an indicator of the country’s potential and attraction as a tourist destination.

Behind this success is the joint work of the National Government, the private sector, and local communities. Sustainability is key to this tourism growth. As a sustainability consultant, we are proud to have collaborated with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce on a program to train tourism businesses in sustainable practices.
