Our passion for working for the environment was born in a family business, focused on setting up waste recycling plants for cities and municipalities in Colombia and Latin America.

We made an exhaustive tour of landfills, open dumps and the waste problem in Colombia, Ecuador and Central America.

We worked hand in hand with Brazilian directors and the waste recyclers associations that partnered with the Doña Juana Landfill, in the negotiation and feasibility studies for a recycling plant of 600 tons of waste per day.

Following the 2012 sanitary crisis in the city of Bogota, we designed and implemented a collaborative and sectorial project to optimize the waste management through collection networks for WEEE, recycling and Organic waste. This network continues to operate successfully today.

It culminates a learning stage and a new business idea is born from the experience lived with greater strength and focus: SIMBIOTIC.

Which comes from the concept Symbiosis: a relationship of mutual help and benefit, and from the suffix ICT: focused on the incorporation of new technologies in this environmental and waste environment. 

We identified the needs of systematizing the recycling value chain in real estate, which led us to think big and incorporate the methodology of the International Center of Bogota project - Asosandiego in a digital platform, that solves the pain points of the value chain and brings the whole experience through digital transformation.

Private companies and institutions from different market segments are beginning to recognize simbIOT as a tool that allows them to fix waste management challenges.

Thanks to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two complementary lines of Communication and Education were born.
